How Much Does It Cost To Restore Parquet Flooring?

Restoring your wooden parquet flooring back to its best can bring life back into a room and increase your property value, as original wooden flooring continues to grow in popularity. If you have recently moved into a new house, or you are looking at restoring your worn flooring, the cost of floor restoration is well worth the investment.

Parquet floor restoration costs are determined by factors such as the size of the flooring and the number of repairs that are needed. Whether your flooring is in a commercial or domestic space, Sussex Restoration can provide parquet floor restoration in a variety of environments. Thanks to our Parkett Profi accreditation, we can offer a Two-Year Warranty on all the work that we complete. So, if, in the unlikeliest of occasions, something is wrong with your floor then you are completely covered!

Restoration Process

To begin the restoration process, we start every project with an inspection of the floor. If the flooring has been covered up for an extended period of time it can develop issues such as damage from adhesive rods and tapes.

We will discuss with you what finish you would like for your parquet flooring, from the desired end finish to how to manage the maintenance post-restoration. As part of our restoring parquet flooring tips and service, we can also offer a test patch of our coatings to choose from before we arrive.

Once we arrive on-site, our first point of call is to fix any damage that has been discovered in the flooring, and then we start the sanding process. Sanding the flooring is an essential part of the process so as to achieve the perfect floor finish. Restoring parquet flooring without sanding is not something that we recommend. If you are concerned about the levels of dust and mess that sanding could produce, don’t be, we are proud to say that our process is 98% dustless!

Once the sanding has been completed, any holes left are then filled through a technique where we use leftover dust from the sanding, mixing it with filler and then filling the gaps. This leaves a smooth seamless finish.

Finally, you have the most satisfying stage – applying your chosen coating. We have a range of lacquers, oil, and stains to choose from, thus ensuring that your parquet flooring is unique and perfect for years to come.
