Our client came to us with oak flooring, in a beautiful historic house in Sussex, that had become increasingly lacklustre after 12 years of wear and tear. Over this time the wood also started to look almost grey in areas and the grain all but disappearing.
This case study explains the process of restoring their oak wood flooring.
Client Brief
The client wanted a simple finish, with not too much aftercare, which would age well and increasingly blend into the surroundings.
Because this flooring was inside a historic house, it was vital to get the right look and feel.
Provided Samples
The client had approached several companies, including Sussex Floor Restoration, who provided samples of their work. They chose us ‘on the basis of their sample and their competitive price estimate’.
We were ecstatic to be able to work on this project and bring a new lease of life to their 12-year-old oak flooring.
The Process
Adam and the team arrived, and with minimum fuss, set about sanding and oiling the floor.

‘They kept to the agreed schedule (actually finishing slightly early), and it truly was virtually dust-free. They were considerate and helpful, a pleasure to be around’.
We only use the highest quality dustless floor sanding machines and abrasives, and we are committed to going above and beyond for our clients.
We pride ourselves on taking every care to ensure you get the outcome you deserve.
The Finished Look
The flooring now looks beautiful and is a far richer colour, with the natural grain showing through, unlike previously.
Having your wood floor restored not only ensures your floor is kept at its best but also shows your customers and clients you’re proud of your environment.
Maintenance
After every project, we make sure to advise the client on the best way to maintain their new floors. We will provide you with comprehensive care guides from our partner, Pallman, the world’s leading authority on floor restoration.
‘Adam also gave clear advice on the simplest and most effective way to maintain the finish.’
Our wood floor sanding guarantee. Thanks to our Parkett Profi accreditation, we can offer a 2-year warranty on all work we complete. So if (on that rare occasion) something is wrong with your floor, you are completely covered!
