Sussex Floor Restoration was founded by Adam Bateup and Ross Flynn in early 2019. We pride ourselves on attention to detail and customer satisfaction.

Unlike some of our competitors, we carry out surveys and test patches so we achieve predictable outcomes, whether it’s a cosy living room or a school gymnasium.

The four core values that underpin everything we do are:

Client Care: We really do go the extra mile. Our free aftercare and aftercare tips keep your floors looking as good as possible for as long as possible. We provide clear and constant communication, always with the client’s best interest at heart.

Craftsmanship: We do like to think of ourselves as craftspeople. Much like you would a stone mason or a wood carver. We have spent years honing our skills to be the best we can be, along with industry-leading equipment and coatings.

Training: We undergo constant updates and training each year to trial new products and machines as well as new techniques. All our apprentices also undergo extensive training.

Support: It doesn’t stop with us. We have the backing and support program of our machine and product manufacturers.

Our Service Mission Statement:

To reduce the amount of waste in the flooring industry. Construction, Demolition and Excavation (CD&E) in the UK accounts for 61% of the waste generated each year. In 2016 this equated to 136.2 million tonnes. We aim to at least put a dent in that figure by saving as much wood flooring as possible.

To preserve history in our period properties. As of 2020, about 4.7 million owner-occupied houses were built before 1919, and we see it as our duty to preserve the flooring in these properties for as long as possible.
To be the go-to floor restoration experts in the southeast. In 2021, there were approximately 3.73 million households in the Southeast of England. We aim to build trust in our client base to be the number one floor restorer for these properties.

Jake started with Sussex Floor Restoration in November 2020 and has since gone on to become our team leader.

What coatings do you offer?

We can offer a range of coatings including oils, lacquers and waxes. At the quote stage we will explain the differences and benefits of each option.

Do you undertake commercial work?

We pride ourselves in offering bespoke solutions for your workplace, be it an office, hotel, shop or showroom, we have a solution for you that will fit your business and your customers.

Can we change the colour of our floor?

We have a wide range of stains and colours to choose from and can even mix stains to give you a truly unique wood floor.

What about the gaps in the floor?

With the exception of pine floorboards, we always fill the gaps in your flooring. We use the wood dust from your floor and mix that with a glue to fill the floor leaving it hole and gap free!
