Sports hall floors are regularly subjected to high levels of footfall and impact. Whether from hundreds of people playing sports or even from hosting events and having tables, chairs, and other equipment moved across them. The fact is, these floors are under high amounts of stress, and it’s a guarantee that, at some point, they will need sports hall flooring refurbishment to keep them performing and looking their best!
Here at Sussex Floor Restoration, we’ve been involved in sports floor refurbishment for many years, and we have built up a reputation for our high-quality floor repairs and refurbishment.
In today’s blog, we will explain a little bit more about our process and how we might be able to help you with your next refurbishment project.
Sports hall flooring refurbishment – how it’s done
The process of restoring indoor sports hall flooring involves a few steps.
First, we prepare the surface by performing a deep clean to remove any excess dirt and grime that has built up over the years, giving us a clean starting point. Flooring cleaning is a key part of any refurbishment project!
Next, we sand the top layer to remove the vinyl coating and get back to the un-damaged bare wood which is underneath.
Then, we carry out any repairs necessary on the bare wood and ensure that there are no gaps or holes.
This wood is then re-coated to match the existing floor in order to maintain the high-performance qualities that sporting activities require.
We use industry-standard coatings to keep your floor in the best condition possible for as long as possible after our work is complete, which means they will stand the test of time for many years to come.
Here at Sussex Floor Restoration, we can also carry out line marking and paint specialist court markings so that a range of sports can continue to be played on the newly-refurbished flooring.
